Red Carpet Prom Dress Trends for Less: 2012 Emmy Awards

Last night marked the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and as always, the fashion on the red carpet did not disappoint. Not only the stars walked to showcase their superb fashion sense, but also they provide us fashion inspiration.

Since these red carpert prom dresses are all luxury which means they are not usually part of the average girl's wardrobe, we want to show you how to recreate a similar look in a much more budget-friendly way. So here are 3 cheap and chic looks inspired by the 2012 Emmys red carpet trends!

Stars in Red

Brights were everywhere on the 64th Emmys night! Colors like bright yellow, green, blue and mint were captured from red carpet looks. But the most eye-catching was Red! The stars sporting scarlet included the Jessica Lange, Cat Deeley and Anna Gunn. Other starlets in red evening dresses included Gretchen Mol, and Kat Dennings.

Sophisticated Blue

Finally, the biggest fashion trend of the night was donning sophisticated gowns. Shimmer, embroidery, floral prints were fabulous to add interest to the red carpet. Michelle Dockery wore a royal blue gown with mesh while Ginnifer Goodwin donned a white and red embellished dress.
